What's being decided
- Notable· Schools & youth, Health & social services· Consent agendaOutside agencies could be hired to fill special education service gaps
The district's Special Services department is asking the board to approve an addition to its list of outside agencies it can hire during the 2026-2027 school year and the 2027 Extended School Year (summer) program. These outside providers, called Non-Public Agencies, would fill in when the district cannot hire staff for hard-to-fill jobs such as speech-language pathologists, and would also provide Independent Educational Evaluations and specialized services required by settlement agreements. A yes vote would let the district contract with three named agencies: Santa Cruz ABA, EVALsolution Psychology Corp., and Waltz Behavior Group.
- Notable· Schools & youth, Parks, arts & recreation, Planning & development· Consent agendaArtificial turf field planned for Rolling Hills Middle School
The school district wants to replace the natural grass athletic field at Rolling Hills Middle School with a synthetic (artificial) turf field system. A yes vote adopts Resolution No. 26-27-03 and awards a $1,265,165.00 contract to FieldTurf USA Inc. to supply and install the turf, padding underlayment, drainage liner, infill, field markings, and related testing and warranty work, paid from the Measure M Bond Fund. The district would buy through an existing state purchasing arrangement, California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS) Contract No. 4-26-08-1031, instead of advertising the job for competitive bids. The Superintendent or a designee would be authorized to sign the contract and related documents.

The board would approve the 2025-26 annual report on Proposition 28 arts and music funding, covering the teachers, classified staff and teaching aides paid for, the number of students served, and the school sites with arts programs in visual arts, music, theatre, dance and media arts. The report also lists priorities for 2026-27.
